Biography
Mindy Blaise is a Vice Chancellor’s Professorial Research Fellow and Co-director of the Centre for People, Place and Planet a Strategic Research Centre at Edith Cowan University, Western Australia. She is the co-founder of several feminist research collectives, including #FEAS, Feminist Educators Against Sexism, The Ediths, and The Common Worlds Research Collective.
Mindy conducts transdisciplinary and postdevelopmental research and uses feminist, responsive, affect-focused and creative methods to rework a humanist ontology. These practices ground her most recent book (co-authored with Tonya Rooney), Rethinking environmental education in a climate change era: Weather learning in early childhood
She is interested in how the more-than-human and feminist speculative research practices activate new meanings about childhood that sit outside the narrow confines of developmentalism.
